Blue Coat Powered Managed Services
According to Forrester Research, fueled by global economic recession the market for managed services will explode in the next 24 to 36 months. In fact, Informa Telecoms & Media predict the managed services market to grow to $34 billion by 2013.
Increasingly Blue Coat is finding enterprises are turning to managed services as a way to slash IT/network costs, shift budget away from large capital investments, better focus on their core business, as well as boost service levels, reliability and manageability. This aligns with the results of an IDC survey conducted last year that found that refocusing resources on core business, reducing network operations costs, and a lack of internal skills and resources being the top three perceived benefits of managed services.
Although the majority of Blue Coat customers today choose to deploy and manage Blue Coat equipment for acceleration, visibility and security directly with their own IT and network resources, Blue Coat works with a number of global partners – including BT, Orange, AT&T, Verizon, NTT, Sprint and others – to offer the option of Blue Coat powered managed services to its customers.
